What is Neural Integration Seven Systems?

Neural Integration 7 Systems (NI7) has been developed by a chiropractor, Dr Luis Alicea, from over 20 years of clinical experience. He used the NI7 techniques extensively in his own practice before training others in the use of this innovative treatment. 

Following successful completion of the training course and undergoing rigorous assessment procedures, the first fully qualified NI7 practitioners are now using Dr Alicea’s methods to successfully treat a variety of ailments.

NI7 is a gentle, non-invasive technique designed to realign and decompress the cranio-sacral system. This process enables the body to heal itself and subsequently maintains improved health and well-being.

Treatment sessions usually last for 20 minutes (40 minutes for the first appointment).The practitioner uses 3 techniques during treatments: 

* Padded wedges are placed on either side of the pelvis to realign the pelvis, hips and diaphragm and de-rotate and elongate the spinal column. This technique also helps to release trapped nerves and decompress intervertebral discs. 

*A light ‘stretch-flick’ is administered to a number of points on the body (mainly around the spine) to release any tension in the fascia (a membrane found beneath the skin).

*Points, similar to acupressure points, are held by the practitioner for 5– 10 seconds to address imbalances in the body’s electro-magnetic circuits.

NI7 has been found to relieve a wide variety of symptoms including:

Back pain

Joint pain (e.g. in neck, shoulders, knees & hips)

Frozen shoulder

Trapped nerves (causing numbness, pain & sciatica)

Migraines and headaches

Jaw problems

Asthma

Sports injuries

Poor body alignment and balance (important for fitness training & muscle development)

How does NI7 help to relieve symptoms ?

When the body experiences any type of trauma, e.g. a difficult birth, accidents, toxicity or emotional or physical stress, its first priority is to protect the central nervous system (the brain and spinal cord). This will result in a shorter, more rigid spinal column. When the trauma has passed the body will usually return to its balanced state. In cases where the trauma is severe or prolonged, the body will retain its defensive position and this can cause the body to remain contracted and twisted. In addition to the physical stresses and strains this will put on the body, the flow of messages to and from the brain will also be disrupted. This means that the body cannot function effectively and a variety of symptoms are likely to be experienced. NI7 treatments will ‘unlock’ the body’s defensive system and allow the body to return to its balanced state so that it can repair any damage it has sustained and function normally again.
